米連邦地裁 グーグルに是正措置発表 「クローム」売却含まれず
アメリカの連邦地方裁判所は、IT大手の「グーグル」がインターネット検索で独占状態にあると認めた裁判で、会社に対し、是正に必要な措置を発表しました。裁判の原告の司法省が求めたネット閲覧ソフト「クローム」事業の売却は含まれておらず、事業の分割はひとまず回避された形です。
この裁判は、アメリカの司法省が2020年に、グーグルがインターネット検索などの分野で日本の独占禁止法にあたる反トラスト法に違反した疑いがあるとして訴えたもので、首都ワシントンの連邦地方裁判所は去年8月、独占状態にあると認める判決を出し、会社側は上訴する方針を明らかにしています。
こうした中、裁判所は2日、独占状態の是正に必要な措置を発表し、競合他社を排除し、自社のサービスを強要するような契約を禁止することや、検索などの一部のデータを他社に提供することが盛り込まれています。
一方、司法省が求めたネット閲覧ソフト「クローム」事業の売却については、「違法な制限には使われていない」などとして含まれていません。
会社にとってこの事業は主要な収益源となっている広告分野の要で、事業の分割はひとまず回避された形です。
司法省が今回の判断を受けて上訴するかどうかなど、今後の動向が注目されます。
