秋田 大仙 刈和野の大綱引き 5000人が引き合い 結果は“豊作”
五穀豊じょうを願って巨大な綱を引き合う秋田県大仙市の伝統行事「刈和野の大綱引き」が10日、行われました。
「刈和野の大綱引き」は、秋田県大仙市の刈和野地区に500年以上前から伝わる伝統行事で、国の重要無形民俗文化財にも指定されています。
10日夜は地区の中心部で、上町が作った雄綱（おづな）と下町の雌綱（めづな）を結び合わせる「綱合わせ」が行われ、およそ1時間かけて長さ200メートル、直径80センチ、重さ20トンの巨大な綱が完成しました。
そして、綱引きを取り仕切る建元（たてもと）が綱の上から飛び降りるのを合図に勝負が始まると、集まったおよそ5000人の人たちは、「ジョウヤサノー」とかけ声を上げながら力いっぱいに綱を引き合っていました。
綱引きでは、上町が勝つとコメの値段が上がり、下町が勝てば豊作になると言い伝えられていて、ことしは13分間にわたる熱戦の末、下町が2年ぶりに勝ちました。
「刈和野大綱引保存会」の今野幸宏会長は「コメの値段が上がる中、価格が安定してほしいという願いもかなういい年になれば」と話していました。
