ソニー、冷却効率を向上した「REON POCKET 5」 駆動時間は1.8倍に
ソニーサーモテクノロジーは、ウェアラブルサーモデバイスキット「REON POCKET 5」を4月23日から発売開始した。価格はオープンプライスで、直販価格はセンシングキット付きの「RNPK-5T」が19,800円、本体のみの「RNPK-5」が17,600円。

首元に装着して本体接触部分の体表面を直接冷やしたり温めたりすることができる「REON POCKET」シリーズの第5世代モデル。新開発のサーモモジュールと放熱機構を搭載し、従来比最大約1.8倍の駆動時間と最大約1.5倍の吸熱性能を実現した。また、行動や環境に合わせた冷温の自動切り替え機能も強化している。
新設計で大型化したサーモモジュールと、新たな構造の放熱ファンを搭載し、冷却効率および放熱風量を向上。従来比で最大約1.5倍の吸熱性能を実現した。これにより、パワフルな冷却と長時間の使用が可能となり、もっとも冷却性能の高い「COOLレベル5」を追加した。また、「COOLレベル4」でも約7.5時間と、従来の約1.8倍の駆動時間利用に対応する。
さらに本体から発生する動作音を最大約1/5に低減し、ビジネスシーンでの使いやすさを向上した。
温湿度・照度・近接・加速度センサーを搭載した「REON POCKET TAG」と連携し、冷・温を自動で切り替えられる機能「SMART COOL⇔WARM MODE」も強化し、環境変化に追従した素早い温度調節や、最適な温度制御による長時間の使用に対応した。
REON POCKET 5の冷却機能が向上しただけでなく、REON POCKET TAGのソフトウェアアップデートにより直射日光の検知に対応したことで、環境変化に合わせた温度調節にかかる時間を約1/3に短縮。状況に応じた最適な温度をより正確に行なえるようになった。温度制御の精度向上により、「SMART COOL⇔WARM MODE」の場合、最長約10時間使用できる。
REON POCKET本体の熱を逃がす付属のエアフロ―パーツは、ビジネスシーンとカジュアルシーンに合わせた2種類を用意。ビジネスシーン向けには、首や背中の形状に合わせて襟の高さまで伸びた形状、カジュアルシーン向けには低い襟元に合わせた短い形状とし、いずれも目立たず効率的に排気できる。
REON POCKET 5の操作や設定はアプリから行なえる。充電時間は約170分(満充電)で、90%までは約100分。充電端子はUSB Type-C。本体の外形寸法は約55×117×23mm。重量は116g。バッテリ持続時間はCOOLが約4～17時間、WARMが約4～8時間。
なお、REON POCKET 5は、前モデルを販売した日本と香港に加え、新たにシンガポール、マレーシア、タイ、ベトナム、英国でも販売を開始する。
