Googleは、Google AI Studioで利用する「Gemini API」の課金方式について、10月12日までに「Postpay(後払い)」から「Prepay(前払い)」へ切り替える。Gemini APIの有料機能を利用するには、Google AI Studioのプロジェクトに紐づく課金プランを前払い方式に変更する必要がある。今回の変更は、Google AI StudioにおけるGemini APIの利用のみが対象。そのほかのGoogle Cloud Platform(GCP)サービスについては、引き続き後払いが適用される。 Gemini APIの有料機能を継続利用する場合、利用者はAI Studioの請求ページから前払いへ切り替え、事前にクレジットを購入する。10月12日までに切り替えとクレジット購入を行なわなかった場合、サービスが中断される。 Googleは、サービス中断を避けるため、期限前の移行を推奨している。残高が少なくなった際に自動で補充する「auto-reload」の設定も案内している。現在の課金プランの確認や支払い方法の管理、前払いへの変更はAI Studioの請求ページから行なえる。現在Gemini APIの有料機能を利用しておらず、今後も利用する予定がない場合は対応不要としている。
