新型フォルクスワーゲンID. Buzzの888万9000円は高いのか？ 価値あるドイツ製ミニバンに迫る
日本に上陸したフォルクスワーゲンの新型「ID. Buzz」に、いち早く『GQ JAPAN』ライフスタイル・エディターのイナガキが乗った！

試乗車は新型フォルクスワーゲンID. Buzzのうち「Pro」と呼ぶ、ノーマルホイールベース仕様だ。日本仕様は、ノーマルホイールベース仕様＆ロングホイールベース仕様それぞれProのみだ。
新型フォルクスワーゲンID. Buzz Proの乗降性は良い。身長170cmの筆者は、スッと乗り込めた。インパネまわりは、シンプル。センターには、新設計のMIB4システムと12.9インチの大型タッチスクリーンを設置。エアコンや音量など頻繁に使う機能は、ディスプレイ下部のバックライト付タッチスライダーバーでスムーズに操作可能だ。
新型フォルクスワーゲンID. Buzz Proには、純正ナビゲーションシステムがオプションでも用意されない。もし、ナビゲーション機能を使いたいのであれば、スマートフォン接続機能を使えばOK。スマートフォン内の地図アプリは表示可能だ。
山間部といった電波の弱い場所こそ、純正ナビゲーションシステムは役立つが、フツーの道あればスマートフォン内の地図アプリで十分。検索も容易だ。筆者も、最近はスマートフォン頼みだ。
新型フォルクスワーゲンID. Buzz Proの「ドライバーインフォメーションディスプレイ」と呼ぶデジタルメーターは、シンプルな表示内容で視認性に優れる。サイズもコンパクトゆえ、前方視界はかなり良い。どこまでも見渡せる。
電動調整式シートをセットすると、トヨタ「ハイエース」のようなドライビングポジションに驚く。近年、乗用モデルのミニバンでは味わえない感覚が新鮮だ。
新型フォルクスワーゲンID. Buzz Proにはオプションで、リラクゼーション機能付シート(運転席/助手席)も用意。シートの背もたれが空気圧で膨張・収縮することにより、乗員の体を押圧する。3種類の押圧パターンを好みや気分に合わせて選択可能だ。
フォルクスワーゲン自慢の装備で、新型「パサート」などでも選べる。ほどよい圧で、身体をほぐしてくれるから、癒やされる。ミニバンで、2列目シートにこういった機能を装備するモデルはあるが、フロントシートにはほとんどない。ドライバーのこともしっかり考えられたミニバンだ。
