27日未明、パキスタン政府のザイディ報道官は声明を発表し、アフガニスタンの首都カブールや南部カンダハルなどにある軍事施設を標的に空爆を行ったことを明らかにしました。
この中で、これまでにアフガニスタンで実権を握るイスラム主義勢力タリバンの兵士133人を殺害したほか、軍の司令部や弾薬庫、そして多数の軍用車両を破壊したとしています。
これに対し、タリバン暫定政権の国防省は、26日夜、国境付近でパキスタン軍の兵士55人を殺害し、20以上の軍の施設を制圧したと発表し、互いに殺害したと主張する兵士の数は合わせて180人以上にのぼっています。
