アダム エ ロペがニューマニュアルとの初別注デニムをリリース！──1960年代後半の通称「BIG-E」と1950年代の「xx」がリファレンス
アダム エ ロペ（ADAM ET ROPÉ）は、世界最高峰の加工技術力を背景に持つ実験団体でもあるニューマニュアル（New Manual）との初めての別注アイテムを3月28日（土）より発売する。価格は6万3800円（税込）。別注アイテムは、生産背景である岡山の工場にアダム エ ロペ オムのクリエイティブディレクター・坂田真彦が直接足を運び、自身が所有するヴィンテージデニムをリファレンスに、細部までこだわりを詰め込んだ仕上がりとなっている。
リファレンスとして選んだのは、ディレクターの坂田が所有するリーバイス501より1950年代のレザーパッチの「xx（ダブルエックス）」、1960年代後半の通称「BIG-E（ビッグイー）」と呼ばれる2本のデニムだ。唯一無二の色落ちであるヴィンテージデニムの中でも、濃淡がはっきりとしており、アタリやヒゲ、ハチノスがはっきりと出ている個体をもとに、経年変化をヴィンテージデニム非常に忠実に再現。 また、土落ちと呼ばれるベージュがかった加工を程よい塩梅で施すことで、新品のデニムでは表現できない独特の雰囲気を表現している。さらに、太もも部分やポケット位置のダメージや裾のペイントは、着用者の実際の使用感をダイレクトに感じられる細やかなディテールとして本別注のポイント。 ニューマニュアルの特徴とも呼ぶべき生地は、1900年代初頭の紡機で紡績し、「死綿」と呼ばれる未成熟な段階で収穫されたワタや、雨に濡れたワタで染まらない物を整理せず、落とさずに使用することにより、100年近く昔の生地特有の自然なムラ感やネップが再現している。 また、本別注モデルの13.5オンスのセルビッジ生地は、ピュアインディゴ100％の特濃の黒味が強いインディゴ色のニューマニュアルオリジナル色を取り入れている。
