JR東日本、AIとドローンで復旧迅速化　運転再開時間を3割短縮

JR東日本は、山手線にパンタグラフ監視カメラを導入し、AIによるパンタグラフの状態のモニタリングを開始する。さらに、鉄道敷地外飛行を防ぐ安全システムを搭載したドローン点検を導入し、電気設備点検時などで運転再開までの時間を約30%短縮することを目指す。都市部の鉄道敷地内で安全システムを搭載したドローンを導入するのは日本初。 現在は、設備故障が発生した際、故障箇所を特定するため、現地まで出動して設備の状態を確認しなければ具体的な復旧方法や運転再開までの時間を判断できないという課題がある。 こうした課題に対応するため、パンタグラフ監視カメラで撮影した画像をリアルタイムにAIで解析することで、パンタグラフの故障を早期に発見するシステムの試行を2026年4月から開始。物体検出AIと損傷検知AIを活用し、パンタグラフ監視カメラで撮影した画像から、損傷パンタグラフ画像を抽出する。 リアルタイムかつ早期に故障を検知可能になり、損傷箇所の点検・復旧時間の削減が可能になる。 ドローンを活用することで設備点検も変革していく。設備故障が発生した際には、指令(運行管理担当者)等が操縦するドローンが線路沿線に設置したドローンドックから離陸し、設備点検を行なう体制を整備。鉄道施設への衝突や敷地外に飛行することを防ぐ安全システムも開発し、2026年秋から試行導入を行なう。 2026年1月下旬夜にはJR山手線新橋駅近辺でドローン飛行試験を行ない、無線通信やLTE通信環境下で安定した飛行や夜間においても鮮明な映像が取得できることを確認。異常時の点検を目的に山手線で遠隔操作によるドローン飛行試験を行なったのは初めての取り組みとなる。 パンタグラフ監視カメラとドローンの導入によって、従来復旧に約7時間かかったケースで、2時間程度の短縮が期待できるという。 山手線での導入後は、中央線の東京駅～新宿駅間等の在来線区間及び新幹線への拡大も検討していく。
