シチズンは、エコ・ドライブ誕生50周年を記念し、光発電腕時計「エコ・ドライブ フォトン（Eco-Drive PHOTON）」を発売する。 「エコ・ドライブ フォトン（Eco-Drive PHOTON）」は⼀度のフル充電で365⽇動き続ける光発電エコ・ドライブの新型ムーブメント Caliber E036（以下、Cal.E036）を搭載。⽴体にスリットが重なり合う多層文字盤を特⻑とした2モデルをグローバルコレクション「シチズン クリエイティブ ラボ（CITIZEN CREATIVE LAB）」より2026年秋に発売する。 1976年にシチズンが世界で初めてアナログ式光発電時計（現：エコ・ドライブ）を発売してから50周年の節目に登場する本モデルは、光にまつわる科学の歴史にインスパイアされており、太陽光や室内のわずかな光を電気に換えて時計を動かし続けるシチズン独⾃の技術エコ・ドライブの革新と進化を表現した斬新なデザインが特⻑となる。 「フォトン（PHOTON）」とは、光のエネルギーが量子としてやりとりされる際の単位を表す。文字盤は、波紋のようなスリットの入った2枚の金属板が重なり、スリットの隙間からは光が反射することで、さまざまな表情や色味になる構造色文字盤がのぞく。 ムーブメントは、⼀度フル充電すれば365⽇動き続ける新型ムーブメントCal.E036を搭載。半世紀にわたり光発電時計を開発し、その中でも新しい表現技法にチャレンジしてきたシチズンだからこその複雑な文字盤構造のモデルとなる。 ケースとバンドは軽量で耐傷性に優れたスーパーチタニウム™︎を採用。丸みを帯びた八角形のケースにシームレスなバンドがつながることで、時計全体を包み込む⼀体感があり、なめらかな形状ながらアイコニックな造形となっている。 「BJ6560-53W」は、落ち着いたシルバーカラーのケースに、スリット文字盤からのぞく構造色が映え、秒針のイエローがアクセント。「BJ6569-59X」は、ブラックと金色のカラーリングにスリット文字盤の構造色と紫色の秒針が目を引く華やかなモデルとなる。 裏ぶたには、エコ・ドライブ50周年記念ロゴと、リミテッドエディションナンバーが刻印。文字盤のスリットがデザインされた専用BOX付となる。
