秋篠宮ご夫妻 4月開幕の大阪・関西万博 会場を視察
来月開幕する大阪・関西万博の名誉総裁を務めている秋篠宮さまは12日、大阪を訪問し、紀子さまとともに万博会場を視察されました。
大阪・関西万博は、158の国と地域などが参加して、来月13日から半年間、大阪湾にある人工島・夢洲で開催される予定です。
会場に到着した秋篠宮ご夫妻は、シンボルとして建設された1周およそ2キロの「大屋根リング」に設けられた高さおよそ12メートルのスカイウォークに上がり、この「世界最大の木造建築」が神社仏閣などで用いられてきた伝統的な建築様式で建てられたことなどについて、日本国際博覧会協会の担当者から説明を受けられました。
このあとご夫妻は、政府が出展するパビリオン「日本館」と、大阪府や大阪市などが出展するパビリオンを視察されました。
このうち、「循環」がテーマの日本館には、円形の建物の中心に、壁に囲まれる形で、バイオマス発電の過程で発生した水を張った直径19メートルの「水盤」が設けられていて、館長から説明を受けたご夫妻は、「どういうふうにしてできているのですか」とか「水の音が聞こえますね」などと話されていたということです。
秋篠宮ご夫妻は、天皇皇后両陛下とともに、万博開幕前日の来月12日に行われる開会式に出席されます。
