7月1日、トヨタは、一部改良した「プリウス」と、その特別仕様車「G“Night Shade”」を発表した。
新しいトヨタ プリウスは、ユーザーから人気のメーカーオプションを標準装備とし、車両の基本価値を高めた。
新しいトヨタ プリウスが標準化した装備は以下の通り。
・ETC2.0（Xを除く全グレード）
・デジタルインナーミラー・ドライブレコーダー（前後）（Zグレード）
・12.3インチディスプレイオーディオ（コネクティッドナビ対応）Plus（Zグレード）
新しいトヨタ プリウスに加わった特別仕様車G“Night Shade”（プラグインハイブリッド車）は、Gグレードをベースとして、足まわりを中心に外装パーツをブラックで統一。艶やかかつ低重心でスポーティな世界観を実現したと謳う。
新しいトヨタ プリウスの特別仕様車G“Night Shade”（プラグインハイブリッド車）のエクステリアは、フロントバンパーロアグリル、リヤバンパーロア、ドアハンドル、センターピラー、ホイールアーチを艶ありブラックに。足まわりは、195/50R19タイヤ＆19×6 1/2 J アルミホイール（ブラック・センターオーナメント付）を履く。トヨタエンブレム（フロント・リヤ）、車名エンブレム、PHEVエンブレムはブラックに変更された。
新しいトヨタ プリウスの特別仕様車G“Night Shade”（プラグインハイブリッド車）のインテリアは黒基調とし、インストルメントパネルにはブラック加飾をあしらう。
運転席6ウェイマニュアル＆助手席4ウェイマニュアルスポーティシート＆上級ファブリックシート表皮は、専用ストライプ付きだ。
新しいトヨタ プリウスの価格は、X（ハイブリッド車 2WD）の¥2,769,800から、Z（プラグインハイブリッド車 2WD）の¥4,608,900まで。
新しいトヨタ プリウスの特別仕様車G“Night Shade”（プラグインハイブリッド車）の価格は¥3,947,300で、400万円を切る価格を実現した。
