超希少なメルセデス・ベンツ GクラスPast II Futureに迫る！ モンクレールとのコラボレーションの全貌とは
メルセデス・ベンツの「GクラスPast II Future（パスト トゥ フューチャー）」が、日本にも上陸した。究極の“超限定特別仕様車”に迫る！

メルセデス・ベンツが2025年4月4日に発表して話題になっている“超限定特別仕様車”G-Class Past II Future（パスト・トゥ・フューチャー。24年に上海で発表された「Project Past II Future」の、過激さを期待していると、やや肩透かしをくらう。街中でもフツーに乗れる、カッコいいバージョンだ。
メルセデス・ベンツ本社と、今はミラノに本社を置くモンクレールは、これまでユニークなコンセプトモデルを送り出してきた。最初は23年のロンドン・ファッションウィークに出品されたダウンジャケットを着込んだような「Project Mondo G」。
次がやはりダウンジャケットのようなソフトトップをそなえたGクラス・カブリオレがベースのProject Past II Future。まるでダウンを脱ぐようにオープン化できる。このとき参画したクリエイティブディレクターのNIGOによる凝りに凝ったディテールの数々が印象的だった。
第3弾が今回のPast II Futureだ。ついに市販モデルの登場だ！
当初はどれだけぶっとんだモデルになるか⋯⋯と、期待したのだけれど、ふたを開けると、意外にあっさり。これはひょっとしたら、オリジナルGクラスに対するNIGOの愛ゆえか？ と、思ったりもする。
詳細は既報のとおり。あらためて、さっと触れておくと、フロント部分だけマットのオリーブグリーンにした2トーンペイントで、フロントマスク周辺に「マヌファトゥーア」（メルセデス・ベンツのビスポークプログラム）によるナイトブラックマグノのペイント。これがまず目をひく。
さらに、特別仕様の18インチ径ロードホイール、モンクレールとのコラボレーションロゴが入ったスペアタイヤカバー、それにボディ周囲のバンプストップに入れられた特別の文言（「This G-Class is dedicated to those who celebrate invention（...）」）と、いった具合だ。
