アップル、全OSを「26」に Liquid Glass採用やAI強化
アップルは15日(米国時間)、iOSをはじめとするソフトウェアプラットフォームの最新版を一斉に公開した。iOS、iPadOS、macOS、watchOS、tvOS、visionOSが「26」へとアップデートされ、ソフトウェアデザイン面では新素材「Liquid Glass」が導入された。AI機能「Apple Intelligence」も強化されている。

Liquid Glassは、ガラスのような半透明のデザイン素材で、画面のコントロール、ナビゲーション、アプリアイコン、ウィジェットなどに反射や屈折効果を与える。表示内容に応じて動的に変化することで、ユーザーの視線を自然に誘導するという。
Apple Intelligenceは、メッセージやFaceTime、AirPodsなどで利用できるリアルタイム翻訳機能「Live Translation」のほか、スクリーンショットに基づいたChatGPTへの質問、複数の絵文字を組み合わせた「Genmoji」の生成および、Image PlaygroundでChatGPTを活用した新たな画像スタイルの作成などが可能となった。
iOS 26では、ロック画面のカスタマイズ機能が充実し、時間表示が壁紙の写真や通知にあわせて変化し、被写体と重ならないようになった。カメラや写真アプリ、Safari、電話アプリなども改良され、不明な番号からの通話やメッセージを自動でスクリーニングする機能のほか、メッセージではアンケート機能や背景設定が可能となった。
iPadOS 26では、新たなウィンドウシステムが導入され、アプリの制御や整理、切り替えがより直感的に操作できるようになった。新しいメニューバーではスワイプやカーソル操作でアプリ内の各種コマンドが使用できる。Dockにはフォルダが追加され、ダウンロードやドキュメントへのアクセスが容易になった。また、プレビューアプリがiPadに登場し、Apple Pencilによるマークアップや自動入力機能付きのPDF編集が行なえる。
macOS Tahoe 26では、Spotlightが大幅に強化され、検索結果のブラウズ性が向上。コントロールセンターやウィジェット、フォルダアイコンのカスタマイズも柔軟になった。ショートカットアプリでもApple Intelligenceと連携し、複雑な操作の自動化が可能に。iPhoneと連携した電話アプリもMacに導入され、Mac上で着信や履歴、ボイスメールなどにアクセスできる。iPhoneのライブアクティビティも直接表示できるようになり、クリックでiPhoneミラーリングが起動し詳細を確認できる。
Apple Watch向けのwatchOS 26では、新たに睡眠スコア機能が導入されたほか、高血圧通知機能も追加された。文字盤としては、Liquid Glassが採用された「Flow」やレギュレーター時計を現代的に再解釈した「Exactograph」を追加した。また、Apple Intelligence搭載で生成音声を活用したフィットネスアプリ「Workout Buddy」も搭載した。
tvOS 26においては、Apple Musicの「Sing」機能によりiPhoneをワイヤレスマイクとして使える機能が追加されたほか、FaceTime機能の強化もされている。
visionOS 26では、Apple Vision Pro上にウィジェットを置いたり、より表現力豊かでリアルなペルソナが追加されたりした。Safariでは3Dオブジェクトの表示が可能となり、Insta360、GoPro、Canonのアクションカメラで撮影した360度映像もネイティブで再生できるようになった。
