メルカリ、通信サービス参入 ギガを200円で売り買い「メルカリ モバイル」
メルカリは、通信サービスに参入する。MVNO事業「メルカリ モバイル」の受付を3月4日から開始する。月額プランは2GB 980円、20GB 2,390円の2種類で、ドコモ回線を活用する。

申込みはメルカリアプリから行なう。4日からiOSアプリ利用者向けに段階的に提供開始し、Androidも順次展開していく
2GBと20GBのわかりやすい2プランとするほか、フリマアプリのように1GB 200円から500円の間でメルカリモバイルの利用者同士で売り買いできる点も特徴。ギガを売って、得られたお金は「メルカリ」の残高にチャージされ、メルカリ内での支払いやメルペイでの支払いに活用できる。なお、ギガの取引時には通常のメルカリの手数料と同様に10%の手数料を徴収する
なお、メルカリ公式でギガを購入する場合、550円/1GBとなる。追加購入したギガは出品できない。また購入、追加したギガの翌月への繰越はできない。
SIMタイプはeSIMで、音声、SMS、データ通信に対応。国内通話料金は22円/30秒。支払い手段はメルカードとメルペイスマート払い。メルカリで不要品を売ったお金で生活基盤となるインフラ料金を支払うことができる点が特徴となる。ギガを売って、メルカリで商品を買ったり、NFTを買うなどの「循環」でメルカリエコシステムを強化していく。
今後、物理SIMカードや、データSIM、au回線の追加、通話定額オプションの導入、支払い手段の追加、おトクなプログラムなどの提供を予定している。
メルカリ関連では、メルペイがUSEN NETWORKSらと連携し、家庭用光回線サービス「USEN光01 メルカリ限定プラン」と家庭用実質再エネ電力プラン「U-POWER GREENホーム」も提供開始している。
