Uber Japanは18日、日産自動車とのパートナーシップに基づき、「Uber プレミアム」を提供するタクシー事業者に対して、プレミアムミニバン新型「エルグランド」の導入支援を開始すると発表した。Uber プレミアムの持続的成長を支える供給基盤の強化を目的とする。
新型エルグランドは、「The private MAGLEV(リニアモーターカー)」をデザインコンセプトに掲げる高級ミニバン。Uber プレミアムの利用者に対し、極めて静粛でプライベートラウンジのような快適な移動空間を提供する。
国内外の旅行需要の急速な増加に伴い、Uber プレミアムへの需要は急速に高まっている一方、タクシー事業者ではプレミアムの基準を満たす上質なミニバン車両の調達に時間がかかる課題があった。Uberは日産と協業し、タクシー事業者が新型エルグランドをUber プレミアム車両として効率的に導入できる枠組みを構築した。
