後閑信吾
旅の季節が今年もやってきた。クルマは、我々を見知らぬ土地へ誘う。かつての若きジェントルマンは旅を通し、見聞を広め、人生を豊かにしてきた。GQ JAPANはこの秋、千葉、丹波篠山、沖縄、北海道の新しい旅を提案する。クルマを相棒に、いざ、グランドツーリングへ。栄町市場にある奇跡、「ソリアーノ」でヒューガルデンを堪能。

ディナー前、「ちょっと一杯ビールでも飲みましょうか」とアペロ気分の夕刻。「面白い店があるんですよ」と後閑が連れていってくれた店だが、扉を開ける際、彼の眼がいたずらっぽく光ったのを我々は見逃さなかった！ここは狭い路地に120軒もの店舗がひしめきあう栄町市場。5人も入れば窮屈に感じるほど小体なスタンディングバー「ソリアーノ」だ。
そしてこちらの看板（というかほぼ唯一の）メニューはベルギー産ヒューガルデンのドラフト。沖縄なのにオリオンじゃないの？ という疑問はさておき、自らを「たかおちゃんって呼んでください」という店主にまずはおまかせしてみよう。
すると……まずグラスをうやうやしく目の高さに掲げ、汚れやキズをチェック。続いてタップの前に静々と進み、周囲の声など一切聞こえていないといった趣の全集中でビールを注ぐ。そのまなざしはまさに求道者のそれで、見ているこちらは固唾を飲んで見守るしかない、というなんともユニークなバーなのであった。肝心の味わいは、今まで飲んだヒューガルデンとはまるで違う、クリーミーでなめらかなテクスチャー。これは中に空気を入れながら注ぐ、たかおちゃん流トルネードメソッドの賜物らしいのだが、そこは多く語るまい。実際に足を運んでご自身の眼と舌で確かめていただきたい。
ちなみに後閑は海外から友人が来た際もここへ必ず案内するそうだが、誰もが気に入ってくれるそうだ。え、沖縄なのにオリオンじゃない理由？ それは単純にたかおちゃんがヒューガルデン大好きだから！ だそう。
■ソリアーノ
2015年、栄町市場にオープン。店は2.5坪ほどしかないが、混雑時は10人以上のお客が入ることもある人気店。ウイスキーなども揃っているが、99％の客がヒューガルデンをオーダー。
