4月11日、TOYOTA GAZOO Racing（以下、TGR）は、新しい「GRヤリス」の価格などを発表した。
新設定のメーカーオプション「エアロパフォーマンスパッケージ」は、GRヤリスの冷却性能と空力性能を、さらに向上させるという。プレスリリースには「スーパー耐久シリーズや全日本ラリー選手権を戦っているからこそ気づけた課題に一つひとつに向き合い、プロドライバーとともに理想を追い求めました」と、記されている。
具体的な装備内容は以下のとおりだ。
全日本ラリー選手権参戦車において先行で開発し、GRMNヤリスに採用したカーボン製フードと同形状のダクト付きアルミフードを設定。高速走行中、エンジンルーム内の熱をダクトから放出し、冷却効果を高める。
スーパー耐久シリーズで学んだ高次元の空力バランスを実現するために、フロントリフトの発生を抑え、フロントの接地感と空力バランスを高め、車両のトータルリフトバランスを向上させる。当初、このフロントリップスポイラーを除く5点のアイテムを検討していたというが、プロドライバーの大嶋和也選手からのフィードバックを受け、より高次元のバランスを目指し、最終的にこのフロントリップスポイラーを追加採用するに至ったという。
ホイールハウス内に溜まる空気を後方へ放出させることで、ノーズダイブ時のステアリングフィールや、コーナー入り口での操縦安定性を向上させる。
スーパー耐久シリーズ参戦車両の安全燃料タンクの下部をフラット形状にするアイデアを採用。ボディ下部の空気の流れを最適化し、空力性能を高める。
大型のリヤウイングは高速域での操縦安定性に寄与し、またブレーキング時のスネーキング現象を抑制する。可変式のため、サーキットなどの走行シーンに応じてウイングの角度を変え、走りを楽しめるという。
リヤバンパーにおけるパラシュート効果（車両前方からの走行風をリヤバンパーが受け止めることで空気の滞留を招き、抵抗となる現象）を抑制し、Cd値を低減させる。過酷なレース条件下であるスーパー耐久シリーズの現場で、空力負荷によりリヤバンパーが外れたことを起点に、モータースポーツ特有の厳しい環境に対応するため開発されたという。
新しいGRヤリスの価格はRC（6MT）の¥3,560,000から、RZ“High performance”（GR-DAT）の¥5,330,000まで。エアロパフォーマンスパッケージの価格は未定だ。
