加熱式たばこによる受動喫煙 健康影響評価まとまる 厚労省研究班
喫煙者の4割が利用するようになっている「加熱式たばこ」による受動喫煙の影響について、厚生労働省の研究班が評価をまとめたことが分かりました。加熱式たばこの使用によって空気中の有害物質が増加する一方、受動喫煙と呼吸器の症状や発がん性など健康影響との関連性が「強い」と認められるものはないとしています。
受動喫煙対策は2020年に規制が強化され、飲食店などでは原則屋内禁煙となった一方、「加熱式たばこ」については専用の「喫煙室」に限って飲食などをしながらたばこを吸うことが認められています。
去年から厚生労働省の専門委員会で「加熱式たばこ」の取り扱いの見直しなどが検討される中、厚生労働省の研究班が去年までの15年間に国内外で発表された数百の論文を分析し、「加熱式たばこ」の受動喫煙による健康影響などの評価をまとめたことが分かりました。
それによりますと、「加熱式たばこ」の副流煙からは発がん物質の一部が検出されていて、屋内で使用することで同じ空間では受動喫煙の原因となる有害物質が増加するとしています。
一方で、「加熱式たばこ」の受動喫煙と呼吸器の症状や発がん性など具体的な健康影響については、客観的なデータから関連性が「強い」と認められるものはなかったということです。
厚生労働省は今後こうした評価の結果などを踏まえたうえで、受動喫煙対策のあり方などについて検討を進めることにしています。
