ドジャース監督 レッズ戦の先発 “第2戦に山本 第3戦は大谷”
大リーグ、ドジャースのロバーツ監督は29日、レッズとのワイルドカードシリーズを前に会見に臨み、先発投手について第2戦で山本由伸投手を起用することを明らかにし、第3戦は大谷翔平選手が有力だとしました。
大リーグは30日からポストシーズンのワイルドカードシリーズが始まり、ナショナルリーグ西部地区を制したドジャースは本拠地、ロサンゼルスのドジャースタジアムでレッズと対戦します。
第1戦を翌日に控え、両チームの監督や選手が球場で会見に臨み、ドジャースのロバーツ監督は第2戦の先発投手に、チームで唯一、シーズンを通じて先発ローテーションを守り、12勝を挙げた山本投手を起用することを明らかにしました。
また、第3戦の先発投手を問われると「第3戦はない」と2連勝での勝ち上がりに自信を示した上で「もしあればおそらく翔平だろう」と大谷選手が有力だとしました。
大谷選手は6月に投打の二刀流を再開して以降、徐々にイニング数を増やし、レギュラーシーズン最後の登板で6回を無失点に抑えるなど状態を上げてきています。
この日は練習も公開され、山本投手はブルペンで速球と変化球、それぞれの感触を確かめたほか、大谷選手は30分ほどキャッチボールを行い、登板に備えていました。
第1戦のドジャースの先発投手は、サイ・ヤング賞2回の実績がある左腕のスネル投手が務めます。
ロバーツ監督は「昨シーズンワールドシリーズを制した油断はない。早い回から主導権をにぎり、相手につけいる隙を与えないようにしたい」と話していました。
レッズ 第1戦先発のグリーン「自分の強み貫く」
レッズの第1戦の先発はグリーン投手（26）です。
大リーグ4年目で、平均球速160キロのストレートとキレのあるスライダーが持ち味で、今シーズンはけがによる離脱があったものの防御率2.76をマークしています。
グリーン投手はロサンゼルスの出身で、地元でのドジャースとの対戦について「とても特別なことだ。こういう試合ができることを夢見てきた。すべてをかみしめながら、目の前のタスクを成し遂げたい」と気持ちを表しました。
また、大谷選手に対しては昨シーズンからあわせて9打席対戦してヒット1本、打率1割4分3厘と抑えています。
グリーン投手は大谷選手との対戦について「彼はすばらしい才能を持っているが、私もメジャーリーガーだ。自分の強みを貫くこと、そして自分を信じ切ることが大事だと思う。1球1球をベストな形で投げ切りたい」と意気込んでいました。
