山形 東根 さくらんぼの種を飛ばす大会 10m以上飛ばす人も
さくらんぼの生産量が全国一の山形県東根市で食べたさくらんぼの種を飛ばし、その距離を競う大会が開かれています。
「さくらんぼ種飛ばしワールドグランプリ」と名付けられたこの大会は、東根市や観光物産協会などが毎年、この時期に開いています。
大会は「一般」や「子ども」など3つの部門で行われ、高さおよそ40センチのステージの上から、口にふくんださくらんぼの種をどこまで遠くに飛ばせるかを競います。
出場した人たちは高級品種の「佐藤錦」を1粒口に入れてじっくり味わったあと、上体を反らして勢いをつけて種を飛ばしていました。
中には10メートル以上飛ばす人もいて、会場から大きな歓声があがっていました。
およそ9メートル飛ばした広島県の男性は「毎年参加していて、10年以上になります。さくらんぼは甘くておいしく、自己最長の記録も更新できてうれしいです」と話していました。
大会の実行委員長を務める天野貴文さんは、「暑い中、多くの方に来ていただきました。心ゆくまで思いっきり飛ばして楽しんでもらえれば」と話していました。
