JR西日本社長 北陸新幹線延伸「小浜・京都ルート」支持の考え
JR西日本の倉坂昇治社長は、17日の定例会見で、北陸新幹線の新大阪への延伸計画について「お客様の利便性を考えると、今の京都駅付近を通ることが望ましい」と述べ、福井県小浜市から京都へ南下する「小浜・京都ルート」を支持する考えを示しました。
東京駅と福井県の敦賀駅を結ぶ北陸新幹線は、新大阪への延伸計画で、与党のプロジェクトチームが、福井県小浜市を通って京都に南下する「小浜・京都ルート」を選定しましたが、地元の議員や自治体、それに経済界の一部から、いったん廃案になった「米原ルート」などを、再び検討し直すよう声が上がっています。
こうした状況について、JR西日本の倉坂社長は「米原ルートは、私どもとして望んでいないし、滋賀県や福井県、地元の自治体も望んでいないため、米原ルートは現実的ではないと考えている」と述べました。
そのうえで、「お客様の利便性を考えると、今の京都駅付近を通ることが望ましい。北陸新幹線は、新大阪までつながって初めて大きな効果を発揮するため、一日も早い開業を望んでいる。早く安定した政権運営を行っていただき、ルートを決めてもらいたい」と述べ、「小浜・京都ルート」を支持する考えを示しました。
