新型ミニ・クロスオーバー、大きくなって登場!!! 居住性向上へ

9月1日、ミニは、新しい「クロスオーバー（海外名：カントリーマン）」を発表した。
新しいクロスオーバーは初代から数えて第3世代に進化した。ボディサイズは全長4433mm、全幅1843mm、全高1656mmで、ホイールベースは2692mmを確保。先代に比べ全高は約60mm、全長は約130mm伸びた。ボディの凹凸を減らすことで、Cd値は0.26を実現した（先代は0.31）。
フロントまわりは新しい八角形のグリルが目をひく。内部にはレベル2の運転支援システム用小型レーダーなどを内蔵する。灯火類はすべてLEDだ。足まわりでは最大20インチの大径アルミホイールを用意する。
スポーティな「ジョンクーパーワークス（JCW）」グレードでは、ハイグロスブラックのフロントグリルフレームやロゴ、レッドとブラックのボンネットストライプ、JCWロゴなどを配置した。
インテリアでは、ダッシュボードセンターに設置された円形のインフォテインメント用ディスプレイが新しい。AI（人工知能）を使った音声操作システムを搭載。「ヘイ、ミニ！」と呼びかけることで起動し、音声にてナビゲーションなどが設定出来る。
快適性を高めるパノラマガラスルーフもオプションで用意。フロントシートは、電動調整式の場合、マッサージ機能も備わる。
リヤシートはマニュアルのリクライニング&スライド機能を搭載。バックレストは40:20:40の分割可倒式だ。荷室容量は通常時460リッターで、すべてのシートを格納すれば1450リッターに拡がる。
搭載するパワーユニットはガソリンエンジンと、BEV（バッテリー式電気自動車）。前者は1.5リッターないしは2.0リッターのガソリンターボ、後者はシングルモーターとツインモーターとなる。高性能グレードであるJCW ALL4の場合、0～100km/hを5.4秒で駆け抜ける。
運転支援システムも強化され、ミニとしては初となるハンズ・オフ機能を搭載した。一定の条件下で、ステアリングからの手放し運転を実現する。
新型ミニ・クロスオーバーの日本導入時期は未定。
