「母の日」前に カーネーションの出荷最盛期 愛知 豊川
5月11日の「母の日」を前に、カーネーションの産地、愛知県豊川市では出荷が最盛期を迎えています。
豊川市は鉢植えのカーネーションの栽培が盛んで、生産量は愛知県内で最も多くなっています。
市内では17軒の農家が栽培していて、母の日を前に出荷が最盛期を迎えています。
このうち、中田記由さんの農業用ハウスでは24日、出荷に向けてピンクや赤などのカーネーションの鉢をフィルムで保護する作業が行われていました。
ことしは、3月に暖かい日が続いてから気温が低くなる日があったため、ハウス内の温度管理に苦労したということです。
中田さんは「母の日に感謝の気持ちを伝えてカーネーションを渡して、もらった側も渡した側もどちらも笑顔になってもらえるとうれしいです」と話していました。
豊川市の鉢植えのカーネーションは合わせて46万鉢が出荷される見込みで、主に愛知県内や関西地方の市場に向けて、5月上旬まで出荷が続くということです。
