三重で「ほうばい祭り」長さ40mのロープ渡る“海上綱渡り”も
三重県熊野市の漁港で地域の交流を深めるイベント「ほうばい祭り」が開かれ、大勢の人でにぎわいました。
「ほうばい」は「仲間」を意味する熊野地方の方言で、熊野市二木島町の漁港では、大型連休で帰省したり、観光で訪れたりした人に交流を深めてもらおうと、毎年この時期に「ほうばい祭り」と名付けたイベントを開いてきました。
新型コロナの感染拡大の影響で、ことしは5年ぶりの開催となり、会場では、熊野灘でとれた魚が販売されたほか、タイ汁が無料でふるまわれました。
また、海面からおよそ7メートルの高さに張られた長さ40メートルのロープを渡る恒例の「海上綱渡り」も行われ、小学生から大人まで38人が挑戦しました。
綱渡りは、渡った距離を競うものですが、ほとんどの人は10メートルも渡ることができず参加者がバランスを崩して海に落ちるたびに、来場者から大きな歓声が上がっていました。
優勝したのは、サルの衣装を着て参加した46歳の男性で、33メートルを渡りました。
この男性は「もっと渡れると思いましたが、だめでした。子どもの前でいいところを見せられました」と話していました。
