アルテミスII打上げ成功　4月6日に月面フライバイ

NASAは、54年振りに人類を月の重力圏へ送るミッション「アルテミスII」の打上げに成功した。打上げ日時は米東部時間4月1日18時35分(日本時間4月2日7時35分)。ケネディ宇宙センターからNASAのSLS(Space Launch System)によって打上げられた。 月の重力圏まで到達し帰還する約10日間のミッションで、使用されるオリオン宇宙船には4名の宇宙飛行士が搭乗。ミッションでは有人状態での生命維持システムの初実証や、宇宙船性能の総合テストなどが行なわれ、将来の月面基地・火星探査に繋げる基盤構築を行なっていく。 すでに地球周回軌道に到達しており、ミッションを継続中で、打上げに使用されたロケット上段(ICPS)を目標とした手動による接近・操作の試験が行なわれている。これは将来のLunar Gateway構想などでのドッキングなどを想定した訓練になる。 今後は地球高軌道でのテストや小型衛星のCubeSatを4機放出するなどのミッションを行なった後、月遷移軌道へ向かう。月面フライバイを4月6日(米国時間)に予定し、月面観測や撮影等を行なった後、4月10日頃(米国時間)に地球へ帰還し、太平洋に着水する。 NASAでは、オリオン宇宙船のライブ配信を行なっており、帰還までの10日間、何らかのミッションが行なわれる際には映像を配信する。
