NOT A HOTEL ISHIGAKI EARTH滞在記──海・空・大地、地球をまるごと感じるユニークな別荘
ライフスタイルに合わせて必要な分だけ所有権を購入できるシェア別荘サービスとして話題の「NOT A HOTEL」。2025年7月に8番目となる施設が沖縄県石垣島にオープンした。建築家・藤本壮介が設計したユニークな円形の建物で、海・空・大地を感じるステイを堪能できる。

石垣空港から車で15分ほど。海岸線に近い野趣あふれる集落の中に、ひときわ白い外壁が長く続く。「NOT A HOTEL」のロゴが刻まれたゲートを通ると、屋上の斜面に美しいグリーンが広がる真っ白な円形の建物が見えてくる。
100㎡以上の広々としたリビングとダイニング。海側の開口部は床から天井まで3.5mのガラス窓8枚で構成され、スライド式で全開放できる。リビングから地続きのテラスにはプールがあり、さらにその先には真っ青な海が。視界を遮るものは何もない。
EARTHと名付けられたこの施設。設計した藤本壮介は石垣島特有の植生や環境と調和しながら、その空気感、海、空だけを感じられるような別世界、もう一つの特別な地球を作り出すことをコンセプトにしたという。3,000坪の緑溢れる敷地の中、屋内面積975㎡の建物も、庭につくられたキッズプールもファイヤープレイスも円形。全てに丸い地球全体を体感するというメッセージが込められている。
ゲストルームは4つで最大10名が宿泊できる。主寝室となる「プライマリーベッドルーム」はベッドから窓枠の左右いっぱいに海の景色を独り占めできる。部屋の中にパウダールームとバスルームを完備。洗面台も2人別々にシンクを使える余裕の広さで、奥行きもあり、また何と言っても床から天井まで高透過ガラスが採用され、外の世界との一体感が感じられる。人造石研ぎ出しの洗面台は「NOT A HOTEL」の特注品で、ダイソンのヘアドライヤーを、コードが邪魔することなく立てて収納していたり、引き出しを開けるとリーファのヘアアイロンが格納されていたりと、散らかりがちなバスルームを美しくキープするためのギミックが嬉しい。これまで「NOT A HOTEL」が手がけてきた他の施設と同様、スイッチやコードなど余計なものが見えない設計が貫かれている。
■独自開発のコントローラーとアプリで快適ステイ
ベッド横のタブレットは「NOT A HOTEL」がシステムから開発したコントローラーで、室内の空調、照明、カーテンの開閉、テレビの音量などの調整をすべて手元で行うことができる。このコントローラーは各室に設置されているほか、スマホアプリでも操作が可能。外出先からバスタブにお湯をはっておいたり、1階のサウナに行く前にサウナの温度を上げたり、使いこなせばかなり便利だ。
そもそもチェックインもこのスマホのアプリ操作だけで済んでしまう。あとは必要に応じてスタッフと専用チャットで連絡を取り合うだけ。食事の手配、アクティビティの相談などリクエストを送れば、スタッフは24時間体制で対応してくれる。ここが普通の別荘とは違う、ラグジュアリーホテル並みのサービスを誇る「NOT A HOTEL」の特徴なのだ。
■ホテル並みのサービスもチャットでリクエストOK
先ほども触れたが、スマホのチャットでスタッフと常時連絡を取り合い、自分好みの滞在をカスタムできるのが「NOT A HOTEL」の良さ。もちろん外部との接触を遮断したお籠りステイで、自分で食材を買い出し調理する楽しみもあるが、専属シェフに食事をお願いするのも一つの手だ。たとえばディナーなら3日前までに予約すれば石垣牛、マグロ、伊勢海老、シャコなど石垣の季節の食材を活かしたメニューを堪能できる。他にも沖縄家庭料理ディナーやBBQセットなど、さまざまなメニューがアプリから選べるようになっているし、それ以外のリクエストにも食材の確保が叶えば対応は可能。もちろん朝食メニューもある。
「NOT A HOTEL」では施設のオーナーの食べ物の嗜好やワインの好みなど情報を管理しているので、滞在が決まれば、その人に合ったワインをあらかじめセラーに入れておくなど、きめ細かいサービスをしているという。つまりスタッフはオーナーのことを熟知した執事のような働きをしてくれるわけだ。
■「今日は何をする？」に応える多彩なアクティビティ
長期滞在することも多い石垣島だからこそ、いろいろな楽しみ方をしたい。そんなときは多彩なアクティビティプログラムが大いに助かる。マングローブ林をカヌーで探検したり、泡盛酒造を見学したり、伝統的な木造船「サバニ」に乗って星空を楽しむナイトクルーズに出かけたり。「NOT A HOTEL」が石垣島中を巡りキュレーションした19ものプログラムは大人の知的好奇心を満たすものから、子どもが喜ぶものまで多種多様。今まで知らなかった石垣島の多彩な魅力に触れられるから、毎日の滞在が新鮮な体験に満ちたものになるだろう。
「NOT A HOTEL」にとって最南の地に誕生した「NOT A HOTEL ISHIGAKI EARTH」。現状ではソールドアウトだが、2025年7月には神奈川・三浦の「NOT A HOTEL MIURA POOL CLUB」が販売開始するなど、今後も全国に続々とオープン予定なので、注目してほしい。
