今年注目すべき電気自動車 BMW「Mini Aceman」
コンセプトカー「Mini Aceman Concept」は22年に公開されたが、その最終的なデザインは23年に発表される予定だ（悲しいことに、試乗は24年まで待たなければならない）。

それでも「Aceman」が今年注目の電気自動車リストに入っている理由は、この屈強で都会的なクロスオーバーSUVの外観が、ミニにとってかなりの飛躍であるという事実に尽きる。わたしたちは、ミニがこのクルマをできる限りコンセプトに忠実にしてくれることを、心の底から願っている。
ミニは、終的なデザインについて、コンセプトに「80％は忠実」と説明しているので、この願いは叶うかもしれない。「このコンセプトは、これから登場するあらゆるモデルを予見しているのです。どんなモデルであれ、この新しいデザインを参考にすることになるでしょう」と、BMWグループのデザインディレクターを務めるエイドリアン・ファン・ホーイドンクは発表会の席上で語っている。
「Mini Aceman」は、BMWが手がけるミニの「クーパー」と「カントリーマン（日本では「クロスオーバー」）」の間に位置する。サイズは全長13フィート強（約4m）、全幅6.5フィート弱（約2m）と、現行のカントリーマンとほぼ同じサイズとなる。
また、24年に発売予定とされる3ドア版のクラシックな「ミニ」と同じプラットフォームを採用しており、デザインも一新される予定だ。つまり、「Aceman」の航続距離は300マイル（約483km）以下になる可能性が高いが、それ以上を期待したい。
