千葉県での記録的な豪雨により、一部区間で運転の見合わせが続いていたJR外房線は復旧作業が順調に進み、予定より1日早く23日の始発から全線で運転が再開される予定です。

今回の豪雨でJR外房線は、線路の下の土砂が流出するなどして、大網白里市の大網駅と千葉市の誉田駅の間で運転の見合わせが続いていました。

その後、線路の復旧作業が順調に進んだことから、JRは当初の予定より1日早い23日の始発から全線で運転を再開することにしました。

JR茂原駅ではお盆明けの今月17日から代行バスが運行されていましたが、外房線の全線再開が決まった22日、乗客からは喜びの声が聞かれました。

通勤で外房線を利用するという60代の男性は「運転再開は大変うれしいです。この間、バスがあって助かりました」と話していました。

また、通学などで利用する20代の男性は「バスだと電車よりも時間がかかるので再開が早まってよかったです」と話していました。
