来年のWBC ネットフリックスの独占放送 NPBが対応検討へ
NPB＝日本野球機構の理事会が開かれ、来年、開かれる野球のWBC＝ワールド・ベースボール・クラシックで、アメリカの動画配信大手・ネットフリックスが日本国内での独占放送権を獲得したことをめぐり、対応の検討を進めていくことになりました。
WBCはこれまで日本の試合が地上波で放送されてきましたが、ネットフリックスが8月、日本の連覇がかかる来年の大会で全47試合の日本国内での独占放送権を獲得したことを発表しました。
1日、都内で開かれたNPBの理事会では、いきさつに加えて現時点では国内のテレビ局による中継放送が予定されていないことが報告され、会議に出席した各球団の代表者から対応の検討を求める声があがったということです。
会議のあと、パ・リーグ理事長の楽天の井上智治 取締役は「非常に残念だ。無料で見られていたものが見られなくなり、日本のスポーツ界にとってプラスではないと思う。何らかの形で無料放送をして、できるだけ多くの方に見てもらいたい」と話していました。
NPBでは、今後、対応の検討を進めていきたいとしています。
また、1日はNPBとプロ野球の12球団による実行委員会も開かれ、この中では、ランナーと野手の接触を防ぐために1辺が7センチ余り拡大されたベースについて、来シーズンから1軍・2軍ともに導入する方向で検討を進めていることを明らかにしました。
この秋に宮崎県で行われる若手選手中心の教育リーグ「フェニックス・リーグ」で試験的に導入したうえで、最終判断することにしています。
