東京大空襲 最新研究でわかった被害実態を紹介する企画展
80年前の東京大空襲の被害実態について、最新の研究でわかった資料を紹介する企画展が東京 墨田区で開かれています。
1945年3月10日、アメリカ軍による空襲で、東京は下町を中心に壊滅的な被害を受け、およそ10万人が犠牲となりましたが、被害の正確な実態は戦後80年となる現在も十分には解明されていません。
墨田区の「すみだ郷土文化資料館」では資料の収集や分析を続けていて、今回、新たな焼失範囲を反映した地図や被害状況を撮影した「国防写真隊」の資料など、およそ80点を紹介する企画展を開いています。
この中では、空襲で被害を受けた企業が保管していた当時の工場の地図や、消火活動について記した日誌などから、詳細な焼失範囲を新たに特定したことが紹介されています。
学芸員の石橋星志さんは「焼失範囲や延焼の広がり方など詳細な状況が分かれば、体験者の証言をより正確に理解することができる。体験者は高齢になっているが、残された資料など使えるものはすべて使って、戦争被害を明らかにする努力を今後も続けていく」と話していました。
この企画展は、9月21日まで開かれています。
