佳子さま 高校生の手話によるスピーチコンテストに出席 東京
高校生の手話によるスピーチコンテストが、秋篠宮ご夫妻の次女の佳子さまも出席されて、東京で開かれました。
このコンテストは、手話の普及や福祉教育を進めるため毎年開かれていて、全日本ろうあ連盟で非常勤の嘱託職員として勤務している佳子さまは、開会式で「皆様一人一人が、これまで積み重ねてきた努力の成果を存分に発揮できるよう、応援しています」と手話でおことばを述べられました。
そのうえで、ことし11月に日本で初めて開催される聴覚障害者の国際大会、東京デフリンピックについて、「世界から集まった選手の力強い活躍を見るとともに、世界で使われている様々な手話や国際手話、多様なコミュニケーション、さらに、多様な文化に触れることは、きっと素敵な機会になることでしょう」と述べられました。
このあと全国各地から選ばれた高校生10人が、「私が出会った忘れられない言葉」や「今の社会に足りないもの」をテーマに手話でスピーチし、佳子さまは発表が終わるたびに盛んに拍手を送られていました。
