高市総理大臣は、12日、自身のSNSに投稿し、片山財務大臣が、世界銀行・IMF（国際通貨基金）合同開発委員会の次の議長に就任することになったと明らかにしました。

この中で、高市総理大臣は「このたび世界銀行・IMF合同開発委員会の次期議長に、片山財務大臣が就任することになった。1974年の委員会設置以来、日本からの議長就任は初めてだ」としています。

その上で「半世紀を超える歴史を有するこの権威ある委員会で、片山大臣が議長を務めることをとても誇りに思う。世界の不確実性が高まり、開発課題が複雑化する中で、片山大臣のリーダーシップのもと、開発課題の解決に向けた議論がいっそう深まり、成果が日本企業の国際的な活躍や、日本経済の持続的な発展にもつながることを期待する」としています。

一方、片山大臣もSNSに「本当にありがたく、身の引き締まる思いだ」と投稿しました。
