兵庫県豊岡市の竹野海岸では、ハゼの仲間「チャガラ」が繁殖の時期を迎え、オスが卵を育てたり、仔魚がふ化したりする様子が確認されました。

「山陰海岸国立公園」に指定されている豊岡市の竹野海岸は、生き物のゆりかごとなる海藻などが多く生息していて、豊かな生態系が保たれています。

水深およそ10mの海底の岩陰では、3月上旬からハゼの仲間の「チャガラ」の繁殖活動が始まっていて、全長およそ7センチほどのオスがヒレを動かしながら卵に新鮮な海水を送る様子や、卵から仔魚が体を揺すりながらふ化する様子が確認されました。
