楽天ペイメントは、Android版「楽天ペイ」アプリ内の「楽天Edy」タブにおいて、「楽天Edyカード」へのチャージ機能などが順次利用可能になると発表した。これまでAndroid版では、楽天Edyアプリのみで利用可能だった楽天Edyカードへのチャージ機能が、新たに楽天ペイアプリの楽天Edyタブからも利用できるようになる。また、「楽天Edyギフト」の受け取りや楽天Edyカードの残高・履歴の確認、楽天Edyカードと「楽天ペイ残高」の相互交換など、各種機能も利用可能になる。楽天ペイメントは、「楽天ペイ」アプリをフィンテックサービスの“入口”として推進。今回の取り組みもその一環となる。
