au PAY、海外でもコード支払い可能に　韓国から

KDDIとauペイメントは、「au PAY」(コード支払い)の海外利用を韓国から開始すると発表した。3月から提供開始し、韓国の大手コード決済事業者「paybooc」の加盟店約30万店以上で利用できるようになる。 対象店舗にはコンビニ「CU」、コーヒーチェーン「Ediya Coffee」、免税店「Lotte Duty Free」のほか、観光地の飲食店や屋台などが含まれ、順次拡大する。 スマホ決済や残高チャージなどを海外でもそのまま使えるほか、日本円換算で200円ごとにPontaポイントが1ポイント加算される。同サービスにより、外貨両替なしで決済できるようになる。 アプリでは、日本円と現地通貨の両方で残高を確認できるほか、リアルタイムの為替レート表示や決済履歴の確認にも対応する。 これまでも「au PAY プリペイドカード(Mastercard)」を使えば海外でau PAY残高を利用できたが、コード支払いの対応により、スマホのみでスムーズな決済が可能になる。 決済方式はQRコードによるストアスキャン方式で、オフラインコード支払いには対応しないため、ローミングやWi-Fi、SIM、eSIMなどの通信環境が必要となる。チャージは、au PAY アプリに登録済みの方法で行なえる。 なお、利用には出国前にau PAY アプリでの本人確認(eKYC)をする必要がある。 auペイメントは2月、各国のコード決済事業者と提携するEVONET Globalと基本合意を締結した。Evonetのネットワークを活用することで、au PAYの海外展開に向けた基盤を整えた。4月以降はスマホ決済が普及している国や地域を中心に順次展開する。
