三菱商事社長 洋上風力発電の撤退で千葉県知事に謝罪
千葉県の沖合で計画していた洋上風力発電からの撤退を表明した三菱商事は28日、中西勝也社長が千葉県庁を訪れ熊谷知事に「地元の期待を裏切ってしまい申し訳ない」と謝罪しました。
三菱商事は千葉県銚子市の沖合や秋田県の沖合で進めてきた洋上風力発電について資材価格や人件費などの高騰で事業にかかるコストが大幅に増加し、採算を確保することが難しくなったとして27日、事業からの撤退を正式に発表しました。
28日は三菱商事の中西社長が千葉県庁を訪れ面会した熊谷知事に対し、「地元の期待に応えられず断腸の思いだ。期待を裏切ったことは申し訳ない」と述べ謝罪しました。
熊谷知事は「県も地元もさまざまな準備をしてきたが、振り回された形だ。撤退という結論だけでは済まされず、会社としてどう責任を果たしてくれるのか話を聞きたい」と伝えました。
面会のあと、報道陣の取材に応じた熊谷知事は、「中西社長からは事業撤退後も会社として地域の活性化に向けた協力を続けると説明があった。県としてその点は期待しているし、今後も三菱商事と協議はしっかり続けていく」と述べました。
