兵庫 香美町 二十世紀梨の収穫が最盛期迎える
秋の味覚「二十世紀梨」の収穫が兵庫県香美町で最盛期を迎えています。
日本海に面した香美町では、風通しがよい地形をいかして昭和初期から二十世紀梨の栽培が始まり、地域の特産になっています。
収穫の最盛期を迎え、農家の福井功一さんは29日、袋に包まれた梨の実を軽くつかみ、大きさや重さを確認したあと、丁寧にもぎとっていました。
地元のJAによりますと、ことしは夏の猛暑と雨不足の影響で例年より実はやや小さめですが、糖度が高くなり甘みと酸味のバランスがとれているということです。
ことしは香美町全体でおよそ100トンの収穫を見込んでいます。
福井さんは「酷暑と雨不足で苦労も多く生育も心配しましたが、よい梨が育ったと思います。甘くておいしいので、多くの人に食べてほしいです」と話していました。
香美町の二十世紀梨の収穫は来月中旬まで続き、地元を中心に販売されるということです。
