総務省は9月11日、同省を装ったなりすましメールへの対策強化について発表した。
近年、行政機関を装ったなりすましメールによるフィッシング詐欺や不正サイトへの誘導などが発生しており、同省では今回の対策で、総務省を装うなりすましメールの抑止を図る。
同省では以前から、総務省ルートドメインになりすましたメールアドレス（@soumu.go.jp）からの不正なメールの受信を拒否する仕組みを導入していたが、9月1日からはサブドメインになりすましたメールアドレス（@xxx.soumu.go.jp）からのメールの受信を拒否する仕組みも導入し、対策を強化する。
同省によると、本対応で総務省から送信する正規のメールの受信方法に変更はないが、メール転送サービスや自動転送を利用している等、転送の仕組みによっては認証に失敗し、総務省からのメールが受信できなくなる可能性があるとのこと。
