モバイル免許証で「誰が運転しているか」を特定する実証実験
モバイル運転免許証を活用し、「誰がクルマを運転しているか」を正確に把握するための実証実験がスタートする。トヨタ・コニック・アルファは、JCBと協力し、モバイル運転免許証とUWB/BLEを活用する「クルマウォレット連携」実証を九州大学 伊都キャンパスで3月後半から実施する。

「クルマウォレット連携」実証は、モバイル運転免許証(mDL)と超広帯域通信(UWB)、低消費電力Bluetooth(BLE)などの技術を活用し、ドライバーとクルマのデータをつなぐことで、高度なモビリティデータの活用を可能にするもの。
これまでの、モビリティデータ活用は、技術的な課題やプライバシー保護の懸念から十分に進んでおらず、特に、クルマが生成するデータは「車両」に紐づいているため、「誰が運転しているのか」を特定できていなかったという。また、移動データは個人の行動履歴を含むセンシティブな情報であるため、プライバシーの観点からも活用が制限されている。
こうした課題に対し、トヨタ・コニック・アルファは、モバイル運転免許証(mDL)の国際標準規格である「ISO/IEC 18013-5」に着目。今回の実証ではモビリティデータ活用の可能性を、「レンタカーを利用してドライブに出かける」シーンを想定したユースケースで検証していく。
具体的なケースは以下の通り。
UWB/BLEによる測距とmDLを活用したドライバーの特定
・クルマのデータを用いる際、UWB/BLEで「運転席に座っている」ことを把握、mDLで「誰か」を特定して、個人の許諾を得た上でのデータ利活用
・複数人が同じ車両を利用する場合における、運転ごとのデータ管理
クルマウォレットを活用した自己主権型データ連携
・利用者自身がデータの管理権限を持ち、サービス提供者に対して必要な情報のみの開示・モビリティデータの透明性と安全性の向上
UWB/BLEによるクルマ・店舗間のジャストタイム連携
・ドライバーの到着タイミングに合わせて注文品の調理を開始する、新たな顧客体験の実現
・あらかじめ登録した情報のうち必要なものだけを、クルマウォレットと連携して相手先に提示する
具体的には以下のようなユースケースを想定している。
・mDLとデジタルキーを活用し申し込みから利用までオンラインで完結する「手ぶら乗車」
・クルマの到着時間に合わせて注文情報を店舗に送信して決済し、適切なタイミングで調理を開始して出来たてを提供する「手ぶら決済」「ジャストタイムオーダー」
・UWB/BLEを活用し、ドライバーがガソリンスタンドに到着すると同時に、給油の種類や車内清掃の希望、決済情報などを自動送信
・UWB/BLEを活用し、駐車券情報を自動送信。到着時にスムーズなゲート通過を実現
これらのユースケースを通じて、ドライバーの利便性向上や店舗の業務効率化の可能性を検証。今後のサービス展開の方向性を探っていく。
3月24日から、日本においてはマイナンバーカードと運転免許証の一体化が開始されるが、スマートフォンに免許情報を記録する「モバイル運転免許証」についても早期実現に向けた検討が進められている。今回の実証は、モビリティ領域の新たな顧客体験の社会実装に向けたもので、特にモバイル運転免許証やUWB/BLEの技術的可能性の確認、社会課題の解決に向けた検討を進める。
