水の中から木が…「水没林」カヌー体験ツアー 山形 白川湖
山形県飯豊町の白川湖では、飯豊連峰の雪どけ水で水位が上昇し、新緑の木々が水につかった「水没林」をカヌーで巡る体験ツアーが人気を集めています。
飯豊町のダム湖・白川湖にはシロヤナギの林が一面に広がり、毎年、春になると飯豊連峰の雪どけ水が大量に流れ込み、水の中から木がはえているかのような「水没林」と呼ばれる光景を見ることができます。
白川湖ではこの「水没林」を楽しもうと、カヌーで巡る体験ツアーが先月下旬から行われていて人気を集めています。
17日は、朝早くから3人がツアーに参加し、カヌーに乗り込むと芽吹き始めた新緑の木々の間を通り抜けながら自然が織り成す幻想的な風景を写真におさめるなどして楽しんでいました。
大阪府から参加した40代の女性は「水の上を散歩できて楽しかったです」と話していました。
ツアーを主催している会社の堀江守弘社長は「陸から見る水没林の景色もきれいですが、カヌーに乗ると近くで水没林を楽しむことができるので、ぜひ体験してほしい」と話していました。
「水没林」をカヌーで巡る体験ツアーは、来月下旬まで行われる予定です。
