生成AIの「ChatGPT」を手がけるアメリカの「オープンAI」は21日、開発中のAIモデルが、意図しない形で他社にサイバー攻撃をしかける事故が起きたと発表しました。会社は「前例のない事案だ」と危機感を強めていて、高性能化するAIへの対応が課題となっています。

発表によりますと、オープンAIが開発を進めていたのは、自律的に判断して行動する「AIエージェント」で、インターネットの接続から隔離された環境で、サイバー攻撃に関する性能のテストを行っていました。

しかし、AIがみずから環境のぜい弱性をみつけてインターネットに接続し、他社のシステムに侵入して重要な情報の取得を行ったということです。

攻撃を受けた会社は先週、サイバー攻撃を受けたと発表していて、調査の結果、オープンAIが開発中のAIによるものだったことがわかったということです。

オープンAIは「最先端の技術が関わった前例のないサイバー攻撃の事案だ」と危機感を強めていて、安全対策を強化するとしています。

高性能化するAIをめぐっては、ソフトウエアのぜい弱性を発見する能力の高さから、高度なサイバー攻撃に悪用される懸念が高まっていて、対応が課題となっています。
