NATO＝北大西洋条約機構の加盟国で、ロシアと国境を接するフィンランドの政府は5日、自国の領土内への核兵器の持ち込みや配備などを規制する法律を改正する方針を明らかにしました。

国土の防衛やNATOの集団防衛、防衛協力に関わる場合にのみ適用されるとして、フィンランドが核兵器の保有を望んでいるわけではないとしています。

ハッカネン国防相は記者会見で、ロシアによるウクライナへの侵攻後、安全保障の環境は根本的に変わったとした上で、「NATOの抑止力と集団防衛を最大限に活用するために必要な措置だ」と述べ、早期の法改正を目指す考えを示しました。

フィンランドは2023年にNATOに加盟し、NATOの複数のヨーロッパの加盟国には抑止力の目的でアメリカの核兵器が配備されています。

核兵器に関する政策をめぐり、ヨーロッパでは、2日、フランスが安全保障上の脅威を理由に保有する核弾頭の数を増やす方針を示しています。
