米ウクライナ高官が協議へ 鉱物資源権益めぐる合意つながるか
アメリカのトランプ政権がウクライナでの停戦を目指す中、11日、アメリカとウクライナの高官による協議がサウジアラビアで行われます。アメリカは、停戦に向けたウクライナの意思を確認したいとしていて、両者の間での鉱物資源の権益をめぐる合意やアメリカによる軍事支援の再開につながるかが焦点となっています。
サウジアラビアの西部ジッダでは11日、アメリカとウクライナの高官協議が行われ、アメリカ側からルビオ国務長官やウォルツ大統領補佐官、ウクライナ側からイエルマク大統領府長官やシビハ外相らが出席する予定です。
ロシアの侵攻が続く中、トランプ大統領は停戦を目指していますが、2月のゼレンスキー大統領との会談では激しい口論に発展し、鉱物資源の権益をめぐる合意文書への署名が見送られました。
その後、アメリカはウクライナへの軍事支援を停止しています。
アメリカのルビオ長官は10日、ジッダに向かう途中、記者団に対して今回の協議で停戦に向けたウクライナ側の意思を確認したい考えを示しました。
また、鉱物資源をめぐる合意については「トランプ大統領が実現を望んでいるのは確かだが、必ずしも今回の協議で成立しなければならないわけではない」と述べました。
一方、ゼレンスキー大統領も協議を前に、SNSに投稿し「この協議に臨むウクライナの立場は建設的なものだ」として、アメリカとの関係の修復につなげたい考えを示しました。
協議では停戦を求めるアメリカに対してウクライナがどのような姿勢を示し、鉱物資源の権益をめぐる合意や軍事支援の再開につながるかが焦点となっています。
米中東担当特使をモスクワ派遣へ 米メディア
アメリカのブルームバーグなど複数のメディアは、10日、関係者の話としてトランプ政権が、今週、ウィトコフ中東担当特使をロシアの首都モスクワに派遣することを予定していると報じました。
ウクライナでの停戦を目指し、プーチン大統領と会談するためだということです。
ウィトコフ氏は2月、ロシアに拘束されていたアメリカ人男性の帰国を実現させるためロシアを訪れ、プーチン大統領と会談しています。
また、先月、サウジアラビアで行われたアメリカとロシアの高官協議にも出席していて、トランプ大統領がロシアとウクライナの停戦を目指す中、重要な役割を担っているとみられています。
