Square、高速化した次世代POS「第2世代Squareレジスター」
Squareは、POSシステムの新モデル第2世代の「Square レジスター」を3月31日から発売する。価格は99,800円。
2024年から日本で発売した「Square レジスター」は、スタッフ用と顧客用のデュアルスクリーンを一体化したPOS端末。飲食店や小売店を中心に導入を進めているが、第2世代のSquare レジスターは、ハードウェア性能と耐久性を大幅に強化している。
高性能なプロセッサー、拡張メモリ、強化Wi-Fiアンテナの搭載により、アプリ起動や注文入力、会計処理、画面遷移などの処理速度が最大40%向上。ピークタイムでもスムーズな会計体験を提供できるという。UIも刷新し、スタッフの操作ストレスを軽減し、会計待ち時間の短縮を実現できるという。
また、「Square ハンディ」とシームレスに連携し、テーブルオーダーからカウンター会計、キッチン伝票の自動送信まで一括管理が可能。店舗のスタッフが少人数でも回転率を維持できるという。
Square レジスターは、防塵・防滴性能(IP54)を備え、水はねや粉塵が発生しやすい飲食店でも使用可能。カード挿入口の構造も強化され、摩耗や衝撃にも耐える設計とした。対応するキャッシュレス決済手段は、クレジットカード、QRコード決済、電子マネーなど。本体の外形寸法は319×127×254mm(幅×奥行き×高さ)。
