海外製GalaxyスマホがSuicaに対応へ　27年上半期

JR東日本は、2027年上半期に、サムスン電子(Samsung)が海外で発売するGalaxyスマートフォンで、訪日旅行者向けのSuicaアプリ「Welcome Suica Mobile」に対応する。これにより、訪日旅行者は海外で購入したGalaxyスマートフォンで、日本入国後すぐにSuicaを発行し、鉄道・バスを始めとした交通機関の利用が可能になる。発売地域や対応機種については、詳細が決まり発表する。 あわせて、「モバイルSuica」と「Welcome Suica Mobile」のアプリ上での決済方法として「Samsung Pay」に対応予定。モバイルSuicaのチャージや普通列車グリーン券、おトクなきっぷ、定期券を購入時にSamsung Pay決済ができるよう、対応を進めていく。 2027年上半期には、Welcome Suica Mobile(Samsung Galaxyスマートフォン)で、Suicaでの乗車、おトクなきっぷの購入、Samsung Pay登録したクレジットカードでのチャージに対応予定。デポジットが不要となるほか、有効期限が180日間と、プラスチックカードのWelcome Mobile Suicaの28日より長く設定される。 この対応をきっかけとし、将来的には、訪日旅行者にもウォークスルー改札やJR東日本全線でのSuicaの利用に対応すべく、準備を進めていく。
