2026年に開業25周年を迎えるユニバーサル・スタジオ・ジャパンは、同年3月から「25周年記念プログラム」をスタートしました。
筆者はプレス向けツアーに参加。中でも印象に残った“スペシャル”なイベントについてレポートしますよ！

スペシャル・イベント「ユニバーサル・カーズ・アンド・スターズ・コレクション」は、名作ハリウッド映画に登場した名車が一堂に会する、25周年ならではのイベントです。
『バック・トゥ・ザ・フューチャー』のタイムマシン、『バックドラフト』の消防車、『ブルース・ブラザーズ』のパトカー、『アメリカン・グラフィティ』の1932年型クラシックカーと、どれも貴重なものばかり。 名車がずらりと並んだ様子は圧巻です。これは映画ファンにはたまらない！
また、期間中は『バック・トゥ・ザ・フューチャー』のドク・ブラウン博士、『ブルース・ブラザーズ』のジェイク＆エルウッド兄弟のスペシャル・グリーティングも実施します。 名車と並んで、カリスマ達と写真が撮れるなんて…！
タイムマシン前に登場したドク・ブラウン博士は、まるで映画の中から飛び出してきたかのよう！ 英語と日本語で「タイムマシンを見てみたいかい？」「一緒に写真撮る？」と話しかけてくれました。 他にも、自己紹介をしたり、タイムマシンのドアを開け閉めしたりと、とにかくひたすら喋って動く！言動のひとつひとつが魅力的で、ずっと目で追ってしまいます。
筆者は過去にパーク内で行われていたドク・ブラウン博士のグリーティングを思い出し、胸が熱くなりました。 ファンサービスや神対応も、あの頃から変わっていません。
忙しなく動き回るドク・ブラウン博士とは対照的に、ゆったりと決めポーズを取る2人。どこから撮ってもまるでおしゃれなポスターのようで、サマになっていました。 日本語で話しかけてくれたり、こちらの呼びかけに頷いてくれたりとファンサービスもバッチリです！
ドク・ブラウン博士は2016年5月から約10年ぶり、ジェイク＆エルウッド兄弟は2009年から約17年ぶりの再登場。 ユニバーサル・スタジオ・ジャパンに長く通ってきた人ほど、胸に込み上げるものがあるのではないでしょうか。 幼少期から訪れてきた筆者も、これまでの思い出がよみがえると同時に、今後さらに進化していくであろうパークの可能性を感じました。
同イベントの開催期間は2026年3月4日から2027年3月30日まで。ブルース・ブラザーズのグリーティングは3月27日から実施予定です。 懐かしさと新しさが交差するスペシャルなイベントを、ぜひ体験してみてくださいね！
グリーティング以外にも、開業25周年を記念した特別バージョンのパレード『NO LIMIT! パレード ～Discover U!!! バージョン～』や、オモシロ食べ歩きフード、限定グッズの販売など、パーク全体が“祭り”モードに。
