日本とアメリカの企業経営者が両国の政府に政策提言を行う会議が開かれ、AIの安全性についての懸念が示されるなかAIについて日米で共通したルールづくりを推進することなどを提言する共同声明を採択しました。

この「日米財界人会議」は、日本とアメリカの企業のトップらが経済面の課題について議論し、両国政府への提言をまとめるためワシントンで開かれ、7日、共同声明を採択しました。

声明には、AIの開発を支える電力インフラの整備や日米で共通したルールづくりを推進するほか、経済安全保障に関連して重要鉱物や半導体部品といった品目の供給網を強化することなどが盛り込まれました。

会議後の記者会見で、日米経済協議会の高島誠会長はAIの活用や規制に向けた共通のルールづくりについて「リスクの大きさや用途に応じた統治を追求するよう求める」と述べました。

また、米日経済協議会のデービット・ゲックラー会長は「AI技術の進歩による変化のスピードが過去と比べてもはるかに速くなっている。これまで以上に対話や協力、議論が必要だ」と述べました。

AI開発ではアメリカと中国が先行し、9月に行われた米中首脳会談でもAIをめぐり両国の対話の枠組みを設置したと発表していて、日本としてもどうルールづくりなどに関与できるかが焦点となっています。
