埼玉 戸田 市議選で運動員に報酬支払ったか 46歳議員を逮捕
ことし1月に行われた埼玉県戸田市の市議会議員選挙に立候補して当選した46歳の議員がビラ配りなどをした運動員2人に報酬を支払ったとして公職選挙法違反の買収の疑いで逮捕されました。
逮捕されたのは、埼玉県戸田市議会議員の渡邉累 容疑者（46）で、警察は20日夕方、市議会の議員控え室などを捜索しました。
警察によりますと、議員は、ことし1月に行われた戸田市議会議員選挙に立候補した際に街頭でのビラ配りなどをした運動員2人に選挙運動の報酬として現金3万5000円を支払ったとして公職選挙法違反の買収の疑いが持たれています。
議員は運動員とは顔見知りで、報酬を払う約束をした上で選挙運動を手伝わせ、当選後、JR戸田駅前で、みずから現金を手渡したとみられています。
運動員に事情を聴いたり駅周辺の防犯カメラの映像を調べたりして議員が関わった疑いがあることがわかったということです。
調べに対し「弁護士が来てから話す」などと認否を留保しているということです。
戸田市議会議員選挙は任期満了に伴って行われ議員は、無所属で立候補し1392票を獲得して定数25人のうち11番目で初当選していました。
