宮城 大郷町議会解散の是非問う住民投票 延期の公算大
宮城県大郷町の町議会の解散の是非を問う住民投票について、仙台地方裁判所が一定の期間、手続きを停止する決定を行いました。大郷町は9日から期日前投票を停止し、今月20日に予定されている投票は延期になる公算が大きくなっています。
宮城県大郷町が大規模なサッカーグラウンドや宿泊施設などの整備を目指す「スマートスポーツパーク構想」をめぐり町と町議会が対立していることから町の構想に賛成する住民の有志が議会の解散請求に必要な署名を集めたとして先月31日に解散の是非を問う住民投票が告示されました。
これについて一部の町議会議員が、仙台地方裁判所に対し「違法な代筆が疑われるなど無効なものが含まれている」などとして一部の署名の無効確認などを求める訴えを起こすとともに住民投票の手続きの停止を申し立てました。
そして裁判所は8日、「有効とは認められない署名が含まれている」などとして判決が確定するまで住民投票の手続きを停止する決定をしました。
これを受けて町は、今月1日から行っていた期日前投票を9日から停止し、投票所となっていた建物の入り口には「閉鎖」を伝える張り紙が掲示されていました。
田中学町長は9日午前、町役場で取材に応じ「裁判所の決定を尊重しなければならない」と述べました。
裁判所は今後、町の主張を聞くなどした上で、署名の有効性に関する判決を出す予定ですが、町は、18日の夕方の時点で判決が出ない場合は20日に予定されている住民投票を延期することを決めました。
関係者によりますと判決までには複数回の審理が予定され、数か月かかるとみられていることから、20日は住民投票が行われない公算が大きくなっています。
