Uber、ロボタクシーを26年後半に東京で開始 Wayve・日産と協業
Uber Technologiesと日産自動車、Wayveは、日本を含むロボタクシー展開で協業を発表した。2026年後半に東京でロボタクシーの試験運行開始を目指す。
3社は、ロボタクシーの開発における協業と展開でMOU(覚書)を締結。2026年後半に東京で試験運行を実施するための準備を開始する。試験運行ではWayveのAI Driverを搭載した日産リーフをUberのプラットフォームを通じて提供する。
日本におけるUber初の自動運転車パートナーシップとなる。また、Wayveにとってはロンドンを含む世界10都市以上でのサービス展開など、グローバル・ロボタクシープロジェクトのマイルストーンとなる。
この取り組みでは、WayveのエンドツーエンドAI自動運転システムを、WayveのAI Driverに対応した日産のベース車両に統合。さらに、Uberの配車プラットフォームと接続することで、ロボタクシーと利用者を結びつける。
試験運行の初期段階では、セイフティードライバーが同乗し、車両はUberのネットワーク上で運行。利用者は日常移動の一部としてロボタクシーを利用できるようになる。
試験運行の知見は将来の本格展開に活用。Uberはタクシー事業者との提携を進めながら、ロボタクシーサービスを導入するため、関係省庁と連携しながら、提携パートナーの選定を進める。日産は、新型リーフをベースとしたロボタクシーを試作している。
